When do I choose my appliances?

That’s a bit like asking: “How long is a piece of string?”

The quick answer is that everyone is different. You may have a good knowledge of appliances, or have a friend who has showed you what they have just installed. You might also be a complete novice and totally unsure.

Whatever your circumstances, it makes sense to visit an appliance showroom and look at your options.

My advice? Get a kitchen designer to come to your home or apartment beforehand. They offer invaluable advice.

There are so many different appliance sizes available these days, and you need to know what design compromises, or benefits, each one will bring.

What’s better for you and your home – a wall oven or underbench oven? Should it be a 600mm wide oven or a 750mm wide oven,  A 600mm wide hot plate or an 800mm wide hot plate?

Good kitchen designers work with you to ensure your appliances will fit practically and spatially into your design.

Where can you find great appliances?

Your local electrical dealer is a good place to start. But, again, find one where the staff are experienced and are willing to learn about your circumstances to make an educated recommendation.
